Scrum has outlived its usefulness: a perspective

The first response to my research study on Future of Scrum Master was from Don Kim. He is an entrepreneur, author, and project management professional based out of California. His response was –

Scrum has outlived its usefulness and should go away.

Not exactly the response I was expecting, one that would shake the very foundation of Scrum. One of the agile values is openness, so in the spirit of open discussion, I jumped on a Skype call with Don to understand his point of view.

The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function. – F. Scott Fitzgerald
