$100,000 lessons from the World of Blackjack

A wonderful kick off keynote address at PMXPO 2013 by Jeffery Ma. Losing $100,000 in two hands of blackjack, Jeffrey Ma recovered his confidence through teamwork, trust, creativity and goal-setting. Here are some wonderful points to ponder and reflect upon from his address.

Learn & follow basic strategy

4x mistakes are made due to inactivity verses activity.

Always focus on making the right decision, not necessarily the right outcome.

Don’t have a loss aversion attitude. Think about what will help you win more.

What is the most important factor when hiring people? That you can trust them. Trust of competency and trust in the person. Provide people with context not control and let them do their job.
